From Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will present a collection of compelling plays and monologues written and performed by women when it presents the fifth iteration of its acclaimed annual showcase that launched in 2022, That’s (Not) All She Wrote V (TNASWV). Writers will read from their own work in a specially created Open-Mic setting at the It’s Never Too Latte coffee house as audiences gather around the space cabaret-style to take in the immersive experience.
Reprising their roles as director and executive producer, respectively, are WCT writer/actor/director Carol Mark of Ridgefield, CT, and WCT writer/actor/ director/producer Lori Myers of Nanuet. Robin Hackett is debuting as vocalist/guitarist.
Allison Schneider (New City) is the stage manager and lighting operator, Kim Chandler (New Rochelle) is the sound operator.
Myers, a member of Honor Roll!, a grass-roots group of women+ playwrights over 40, and Dramatists Guild, says, ”According to recent reporting, women playwrights continue to have a more difficult time getting their work staged at some of the major theater venues. This is why productions such as That’s (Not) All She Wrote are so crucial. Audiences need to hear women’s unique perspective about the world we share.”
That’s (Not) All She Wrote V will be performed at WCT, 23 Water Street, Ossining, NY, on Friday, July 24 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, July 25 at 2 and 7:30 pm; Sunday, July 26 at 3 pm.
