Stepinac’s Diane Jaile P’15 Honored with Top Award at New York Blood Center Annual Chairperson Luncheon

Archbishop Stepinac High School proudly announces that Diane Jaile P’15, Assistant to the Principal, has received the “You Mean the World to Us Award,” the top honor presented at the New York Blood Center’s Annual Chairperson Luncheon, in recognition of her outstanding leadership and dedication to organizing the school’s blood drives.

In presenting the award, Camilo Rubio, Account Manager, Donor Recruitment, New York Blood Center, praised Jaile’s remarkable contributions:

“I am honored to nominate Diane Jaile from Archbishop Stepinac High School. Diane has been a true partner and champion of our mission, bringing incredible energy, kindness, and dedication to every blood drive. Diane’s encouragement, positivity, and steady leadership create an environment where giving blood feels not just important, but meaningful and rewarding.”

Thanks to her efforts, Stepinac has collected 676 pints of blood across the last 10 drives, potentially saving more than 2,000 patients and their families. Beyond the numbers, Jaile has distinguished herself by her personal approach, taking the time to connect with donors, celebrate their generosity, and remind them of the life-saving impact of their contributions.

“I am deeply humbled to receive this award, but the real recognition belongs to our students, faculty, and families who continually show up to support this cause,” said Jaile. “Each pint of blood represents hope for someone in need, and I’m so proud to be part of a community that lives out the values of compassion and service every day.”

Stepinac’s commitment to this life saving mission was also recognized on an institutional level. The school was honored as one of just 14 schools chosen as a 2024–25 New York Yankees High School Blood Drive Champion, celebrated at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, September 25, with nearly 50 members of the Stepinac community in attendance.

In addition, Stepinac was recognized by the New York Blood Center for completing over 230 blood donations last year, earning the school the #3 position among NYBC’s top high school partners.

“Diane’s leadership has truly elevated our school’s partnership with the New York Blood Center,” said Paul Carty, Principal. “We are also incredibly proud to be recognized by the New York Yankees and as one of the top high school partners with NYBC, which speaks to the collective commitment of our students, faculty, and families to making a difference.”

Through the dedication of individuals like Diane Jaile and the support of the entire Crusader community, Stepinac continues to build on its tradition of service and commitment to saving lives.
