Philipse Manor Hall Hosts Free Revolutionary War Festival

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site, the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall, and Revolutionary Westchester 250 are pleased to present “Revolutionary Harvest Festival” on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in-person at Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site (29 Warburton Ave. Yonkers, NY). This program is free and open to everyone.

Step back in time to celebrate the fall harvest season and learn about the Revolutionary War in Westchester County and New York. Meet military and civilian reenactors and interact with historical people including General George Washington (on his horse Nelson), French General le Comte de Rochambeau, Mary Philipse Morris, and Ann Fisher Miller. Revolutionary War soldiers like the First Rhode Island Regiment and Black Loyalists will interpret the lives of ordinary soldiers in camp. See live demonstrations of historic crafts like spinning, fiber arts, woodworking and joinery, explore the lives of camp followers, 18th century food preservation techniques, 18th century medicine, and more.

Enjoy live music and try your hand at 18th century country dancing, grinding grain in a portable stone mill, operating a cider press, and playing 18th century-style children’s games. Explore the history of Philipse Manor Hall and colonial New York with free admission to the museum, and don’t miss the special traveling exhibit “Treason of the Blackest Dye: The True Story of Arnold, André, and Three Honest Militiamen.” History buffs of all ages can also enjoy our special espionage activity, as you explore the grounds and meet historical people and booths of local history organizations to decipher your mission, using our special code book!

This festival coincides with Yonkers RiverFest, which features live music, vendors, and food throughout the downtown Yonkers area.

“Revolutionary Harvest Festival” is supported by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall, Revolutionary Westchester 250, Westchester County, and Revolutionary Yonkers 250.
