Manhattanville University is proud to announce that President Frank D. Sánchez, PhD, has been named to the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Westchester (NPW) following its annual meeting on October 7.
“It is a tremendous honor to join the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Westchester, an organization that helps ensure our county’s continued social and economic vitality,” said Dr. Sánchez. “Nonprofits and higher education share a profound commitment to uplifting communities, fostering equity, and expanding opportunity. I look forward to working alongside fellow NPW leadership, board members and community leaders as we advance the many nonprofits that make Westchester a thriving place to live, learn, and work.”
“We welcome Dr. Frank Sánchez to the Nonprofit Westchester Board of Directors,” said Jan Fisher, Executive Director of Nonprofit Westchester. “Dr. Sánchez brings an extraordinary depth of educational leadership, civic commitment, and strategic vision to our governance. His perspective will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the role of nonprofits and advocate for the populations we serve.”
Dr. Sánchez brings nearly three decades of higher education leadership and civic engagement to the NPW board. Since becoming the fifteenth president of Manhattanville University in July 2023, he has led the institution through a historic rebrand to university status, elevated its profile through community and alumni partnerships, and expanded grant development. In addition to his leadership at Manhattanville, Dr. Sánchez is deeply engaged in regional economic and civic development. He is a member of the New York State Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Council, serves on the Board of the Business Council of Westchester, and sits on the national board of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Recognized widely for his civic impact, he was recently named to City & State’s 2026 Westchester Power 100 and 2026 Hudson Valley Trailblazers.
