
A group of 22 students from Irvington High School’s Science Research program participated in the annual Tri-County Science and Technology Fair, which brings together students from Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
Competing against 176 students, four Irvington High School students earned top honors.
· Levent Sarayli earned third place in the Earth and Space Science category.
· Alexandra Ziff Glueck earned third place in the Environmental Science category.
· Anthony Panarelli earned second place in the Medicine and Medical Technology category.
· Iris Ma earned third place in the Medicine and Medical Technology category.
In addition to his category award, Panarelli was recognized among the top nine projects overall, earning a nomination for the New York State Science Congress. He was further distinguished as one of the top five projects overall, qualifying to present his research at the New York State Science Congress in Syracuse on June 7.
Ma was also named among the top nine projects overall, earning designation as a New York State Science Congress alternate.
Science teachers Amy Ma and Nadia Parikka said they are proud of their students for earning these awards, praising their curiosity, perseverance, and dedication to meaningful inquiry.
