Feeding Westchester has announced the restart of a home delivery program for federal workers at Westchester County Airport. The initiative offers an opportunity to sign up for weekly food delivery to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees who are required to work without pay during the ongoing partial government shutdown.
All TSA workers who live in Westchester County are eligible to register for the program. Food boxes will be delivered directly to workers’ homes beginning Wednesday, March 18, and will continue every Wednesday until the shutdown ends. Each delivery contains enough food to provide 21 meals for one week, helping families maintain access to nutritious food while paychecks are delayed.
This initiative builds on a similar effort launched by Feeding Westchester during the full federal government shutdown last October, when the organization partnered with Westchester County and mobilized quickly to support federal employees facing unexpected financial strain.
“TSA workers are continuing to serve the public every day despite not being paid, and we want to make sure they are not forgotten during this difficult time,” said Tami Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Feeding Westchester. “This program allows us to quickly deliver food directly to the homes of those affected so they can focus on their essential work and not have to worry about putting food on the table.”
