New York State Senators Shelley Mayer and Nathalia Fernandez and Assemblymembers Steve Otis and Amy Paulin joined the New Rochelle Public Library to announce $180,544 in a State Library Grant and an additional $1 million the four state legislators secured for capital projects to support critical improvements to the library’s infrastructure. New Rochelle Public Library was awarded $180,544 in State Aid for Library Construction to replace the theater and entrance roofs and to renovate the multi-stack chiller needed to maintain the building’s air conditioning system. These funds are part of the $44 million allocated for public library construction and broadband infrastructure projects statewide in the FY2024–2025 New York State Budget. In addition, the four legislators each secured $250,000, totaling $1 million, to fund the replacement of the main library building’s roof. This funding was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Grant program, which aims to improve infrastructure in our public spaces.
