Bronxville High School Model United Nations Students Earn Honors at CSSMUNC IV

Members of Bronxville High School’s Model United Nations Club earned several honors at Columbia Secondary School’s CSSMUNC IV conference on March 21, distinguishing themselves among competitors from neighboring schools.

The students participated in a range of United Nations-based committees, tackling complex global issues through debate and collaboration. In the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), the delegates addressed the challenges of regulating artificial intelligence, while in the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), they examined the impact of gang violence in Latin America. Several committees were based on historical events, included one centered on the French Revolution, which drew strong participation from Bronxville students.

Congratulations to the following students on receiving awards:

· Sean Ahn – Honorable Mention, French Revolution.

· Emerson Dennis – Honorable Mention, Yakuza Mafia.

· Charlotte Dorr – Outstanding Delegate, Yakuza Mafia.

Additional participants included Rishaan Brainch, Cooper Caruso, Abigail Florentino, Camille Gautier, Eva Hanlon, Willa Heley, Grace Heraty, Cathy Kuang, Maxine Lovett, Julia Manzan, Vaughn Young and Adele Zichelo.

According to conference organizers, CSSMUN aims to empower high school students through active engagement with complex global issues. Participants develop skills in diplomacy, cooperation and critical thinking, tools to inspire lifelong global citizenship and a commitment to making a positive impact.
