New Rochelle State Legislators Announce State Library Construction Grant and an Additional Million Dollars for New Rochelle Public Library

New York State Senators Shelley Mayer and Nathalia Fernandez and Assemblymembers Steve Otis and Amy Paulin joined the New Rochelle Public Library to announce $180,544 in a State Library Grant and an additional $1 million the four state legislators secured for capital projects to support critical improvements to the library’s infrastructure. ​ New Rochelle Public Library was awarded $180,544 in State Aid for Library Construction to replace the theater and entrance roofs and to renovate the multi-stack chiller needed to maintain the building’s air conditioning system. These funds are part of the $44 million allocated for public library construction and broadband infrastructure projects statewide in the FY2024–2025 New York State Budget. ​ In addition, the four legislators each secured $250,000, totaling $1 million, to fund the replacement of the main library building’s roof. This funding was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Grant program, which aims to improve infrastructure in our public spaces.
