More than 20 women and their babies were on hand for the Women’s Wellness Forum held March 18 at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center’s Family Health Center in Yonkers.
The program was an opportunity to provide community resources along with the staff of the Family Health Center to meet with mothers and their newborn babies. The Women’s Wellness Forum was held in collaboration with Healthy Families of Westchester, WIC, La Leche League, Affinity by Molina Health Care; The Basics Yonkers and the Saint Joseph’s Medical Center’s Social Care Network (SJMC SCN).
The program was supported by funding from United Hospital Fund which supports efforts to address maternal mental health during a pediatric visit. Saint Joseph’s Medical Center received a second round of funding to expand community partnerships and referrals.
“This was the first year for this program and we were delighted at the tremendous response from the community,” said Liz Joglar, MSW, Director Ambulatory Services & School Based Health Program Saint Joseph’s Family Health Center.
