Harckham Presents Senate Empire Award to Fred’s Auto Repair of Briarcliff Manor

New York State Senator Pete Harckham presented a Senate Empire Award this week to Fred Indorf, owner of Fred’s Auto Repair of Briarcliff Manor, in honor and appreciation of the business’s contribution to the local community. In 2024 Indorf and his staff celebrated the auto repair shop’s 50th anniversary.

Fred’s Auto Repair of Briarcliff Manor opened its doors on North State Road in January 1974. Indorf, a Briarcliff native, worked at the old Wallace Scott Motors dealership in the village, washing cars and pumping gas before working his way up to mechanic.

Indorf’s repair technicians are all certified through the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ACE). Five years ago, Indorf and his business manager Bill Cummings opened another repair shop in Shrub Oak, and in total the business employs 17 people today.
